Rhian Sugden’s day on a plate: From eating four avocados a day and grazing on creme eggs – how the pregnant model satisfies her cravings


Rhian Sugden has revealed how she’s been combating her cravings ahead of welcoming her first child. 

The glamour model, 37, is currently seven months pregnant after undergoing a gruelling eight rounds of IVF with husband Oliver Mellor. 

At the height of her fertility battle, Rhian was left with such crippling anxiety that she was unable to eat, but now that she is expecting she has been working on nourishing her body. 

Opening up her fridge, and her eating habits, in a chat with Closer magazine, Rhian detailed her daily diet, revealing she’s snacking much more than usual and has gone off the taste of meat. 

The day begins with a quick and easy breakfast, with Rhian enjoying a banana flavoured Soak’d Oat fruit and seeds bar.

For lunch, Rhian tucks into poached eggs and avocado or jacket potato and beans.

She revealed that avocado is currently one of her biggest cravings and she can easily eat three or four in a day. 

Dinner is usually salmon, vegetables and new potatoes, or tomato and cheese risotto. 

Her favourite sweet treat is a trifle and she often treats herself to a mini one for dessert. 

The mother-to-be added that throughout the day she snacks on fruit, saying: ‘I can’t get enough of oranges and citrus flavours, plus strawberries too. 

‘We’ve also just been to Costco and got a batch of 48 Creme Eggs which have been going down a treat! I’ve been eating a lot more beetroot, and I’ve gone off meat.’

Rhian revealed that she ‘can’t cook at all’ so it’s typically Oliver whipping up a meal in the kitchen, with the couple ordering pizza when they fancy a takeaway treat. 

She added that she’s a fan of Hawaiian but now she can longer stomach ham she sticks to ordering a cheese and pineapple.

Rhian recently revealed she is expecting a boy, admitting it was ‘always her dream’ to have a son and is due to welcome her baby boy on May 4. 

Rhian – who wants  to have a second baby ‘soon’ after spending £150,000 on eight rounds of IVF – said she was ‘over the moon’ about the news and that she and husband of five years, actor Oliver, 42, had already picked out a couple of potential names. 

The star told Closer: ‘It was always my dream to have a little boy, I don’t know why but I’ve always imagined having a mini football team.

‘Oliver never said what he wanted, but when we found out it was a boy, he had the biggest smile on his face. We’ve already decorated the nursery and chosen a few names – we like Tommy and George so far.’

Rhian also opened up on her arduous journey to motherhood, admitting she suffered from depression, anxiety and an eating disorder while trying to get pregnant.

She said: ‘I’d dread Mother’s Day or when friends shared news about their pregnancies because it wasn’t working for me. I became brainwashed. 

‘Every time I had my period, I’d be like, “Ugh – I’m not pregnant again”, and felt low for the rest of the month.’

Rhian added that she and Oliver convinced themselves they weren’t going to be able to conceived and ‘started to plan a good life without kids’.

After finally falling pregnant, she gushed that their son was ‘a miracle’ and that she wants to have another child as soon as possible.

She joked that her pregnancy has caused the couple to get inventive with their sex positions due to her bump and not being allowed on her back.

Rhian said that while they were ‘still very active in the bedroom’, their sex life is ‘a bit weird’ as Oliver doesn’t like the thought of the baby watching from inside her tummy.

It comes after she revealed that her OnlyFans page funded her £150,000 IVF treatment, explaining she was earning up to £1,000 a day for posting topless or nude photos on the site.

Rhian shot to fame in 2010 when her ‘texting affair’ with the married Vernon Kay was revealed. Vernon’s marriage to Tess Daly survived the scandal.

The Page 3 glamour model, who has also been linked to ‘cancelled’ Russell Brand, married Oliver in 2018.

Oliver is best known for portraying Dr Matt Carter in Coronation Street from 2010 to 2013 but has also appeared in EastEnders and 

In 2012, Rhian appeared in Celebrity Big Brother, and was the third person evicted.
