The changing face of London Fashion Week: Love Island stars and Made in Chelsea alumni land front row seats at smaller designers’ catwalks at event that used to be strictly A-listers only

It was once the reserve for the A++ list, with only the most famous people in the world, landing a seat in the front row on London Fashion Week.

From tastemakers like Anna Wintour and Edward Enninful, to supermodels Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, only fashion royalty could get a seat in the front row.

And while these fashion heavyweights will still attend big shows – amid the likes of Burberry – smaller designers appear to increasingly rely on lesser known faces to fill out seats.

Alums of reality shows like Love Island and Made in Chelsea held a heavy presence at this year’s catwalks – as did small-time celebrities more known for regional renown.

To her right was Scottish musician Lauren Mayberry, 36, the daughter of Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart, who is best known for her work in the band CHVRCHES.

She opted for a purple, white and black patterned mini-dress and combat boots.

Producer Kamille, who despite being involved in big hits like Little Mix‘s Black Magic and Mabel‘s Don’t Call Me Up as songwriter is largely not recognised, was also seated next to Laura.

She opted for a bold ensemble with a yellow and blue feather coat and statement heeled boots.

Elsewhere at the Paul Costelloe show, reality stars Lady Paris Smith and Hugo MacKenzie-Wood – of Made in Chelsea Fame – were seated front row last week.

Paris, 25, wrapped up in pastel pinks and whites with a puffy maxi-skirt and bandeau top worn under a blazer.

She accesorised her look with a huge fluffy hat. Meanwhile, Hugo, 23, sat next to her, sported a white and orange suit, accentuated by an acid-wash print.

Love Island star Tasha Ghouri, who has kicked off a successful influencer career after appearing on the show, was also present at the show in a taupe mini-skirt and cropped jacket.

‘I have added a personal moment of nostalgia by adding a print based on the street where I once lived. It was a glorious moment to dream and live.’
