Wild male strip show where naked dancers simulated sex acts with audience members will ban phones from future performances, owner says – after clips of the raunchy behaviour caused outrage

The organiser of the wild male strip show that sparked uproar in Belfast after fully naked dancers simulated raunchy acts with attendees has said mobile phones will now be banned at future tour dates.

Videos from the chaotic UK Pleasure Boys’ gig last weekend set social media ablaze and showed nude performers dancing on stage with female members of the audience and one naked performer even included a Union Jack in his X-rated act.

As a consequence of the clips surfacing online, the manager of the erotic entertainment group told the Irish Independent’s The Indo Daily podcast that filming on smartphones will no longer be allowed at upcoming shows.

The UK Pleasure Boys event at the Devenish Complex in Finaghy, Belfast, on Saturday was advertised a Valentine’s Day special, priced at £15 a ticket, and formed part of the group’s XXL Tour.

Following the outrage caused by the raunchy performance, Belfast City Council said it is investigating the incident and police are carrying out a review.

Manager of UK Pleasure Boys, John Woodward, told the podcast that his team would now look at ways to ‘protect people that come to the show’.

He said: ‘If I was going to an event, I wouldn’t particularly want to be blasted all over social media, especially if I was the lady that lay down on the stage, for instance, and then the guy is hovering over you.

‘You’re not going to want your family to see that and your friends to see that,’ he added, before revealing the new ban on phones.

Mr Woodward explained: ‘This is why we’re also now starting to introduce a ban on mobile phones filming the show itself, because then at least whatever happens at the event – not that it’s going to happen again – but if things happen at the event, it’s not going to go viral and these people are not going to be seen on social media.’

He added that security at the events would also be reviewed.

Footage from the chaotic event in Belfast – which saw nude male dancers mimicking sexual acts with some female members of their audience – was labelled ‘disgusting’ by some outraged commenters online.

Speaking to FEMAIL this week, the strip show team insisted that ‘everything was going to plan with the exception of a few excited ladies who had a few to drink and with the presence of the boys, they got a little bit handsy.’

They said: ‘The show is not meant to be seedy and I am positive that the guests in attendance would agree with this.

‘It’s a shame that the whole event – which was very entertaining throughout the night – has been portrayed by the few videos that have gone viral for the wrong reasons.

‘We are a fully nude male revue show that tours throughout the UK and Europe. Our show is a combination of dancing, acrobatics, fire and nudity and we perform 100s of these shows every year without many issues.’

On the Instagram account for UK Pleasure Boys, the company encouraged people to ‘come see what all the hype is about’ when sharing a photo of its tour dates on its Stories.

Speaking about the raunchy nine-man performance at the Belfast bar and restaurant, one woman, who did not wish to be identified, told Belfast Live how the ‘men themselves put on a good show the first half’.

But after a long break, the ‘second half took a turn’, said the audience member. ‘I have never seen anything like it, was gob-smacked, but I did not leave as it was all for a laugh and was glad that none of the men came near me as I would have died off.’

Promoting the UK Pleasure Boys’ XXL tour on its Facebook page, The Devenish said the event was ‘guaranteed to be a night filled with exciting thrills! Perfect for a girls night out.’

Owner and director of UK Pleasure Boys, Mr Woodward, said the occasion includes ‘dancing, fire and acrobatics’ before the ‘full reveal’ towards the end of the show.

Speaking to BBC‘s Nolan Show, he said: ‘I think this has probably been blown up a lot more over here [Northern Ireland] because people are not quite used to what our show is. I mean, we are a fully nude male revue show.

‘The videos are the ending where the girls stormed the stage, this wasn’t planned, this just happened.

‘The boys came out and took a bow and the girls stormed the stage, then they carried on dancing with the girls. They weren’t just going to walk off at the stage at that point.’

He added: ‘There was absolutely no sexual contact during the show. Everything we do, it’s crowd participation and everything is simulated, there’s no sort of sexual acts going on during the show.’

The owner added that his dancers ‘enjoy what they do’ and that the act is often asked to do ‘the Full Monty because people want that’.

One of the strippers was Jack Wilson – who calls himself ‘Handsome Jack’ and also describes himself as a ‘professional pornstar’ and escort.

He has 116,000 followers on X where he says he is 31 and from Bristol and shared videos on the platform before commenting: ‘Belfast will never be the same again…’

Using the hashtags #TheDevenish and #Devenish he showed off a number of clips online with him taking off his pants and exposing himself to the crowd.

In one of the videos online, the 31-year-old pours lotion over his body, before wiping it off with a Union Jack, local media reported.

The Belfast Telegraph chatted to local residents about the chaotic event and one woman outside the venue said: ‘It’s absolutely disgusting. Disgusting and disgraceful. I can’t imagine why anyone would want to carry on like that.

‘And then to film it, you should keep it to yourself, it was disgusting, especially in Lent.’

But another woman said: ‘There is nothing wrong with it, it’s what happens on those nights. If I was there I would have joined in – it’s all just part of the fun.’

Opinion was also divided online, with one person writing on X: ‘Why would any self respecting woman lower herself to go to something like that. God help them they are obviously desperate.’

‘Disgusting they brought that dirt to our doorsteps. Absolutely Vile. Not entertainment, not funny,’ said another individual.

But a third person joked on Instagram: ‘Give these lads the keys to the city.’

The PSNI said police have ‘received one report regarding an event at licensed premises on Finaghy Road North, Belfast on Saturday, 17th February.

A spokesperson added: ‘Officers are currently reviewing the circumstances. As enquiries are ongoing, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.’

A statement from Belfast City Council read: ‘Council is currently investigating the event at the Devenish Bar over the weekend.

‘As this is subject to an ongoing investigation, it would not be appropriate to comment further at this time.’

MailOnline has contacted The Devenish Complex for comment.
